The issue

We can all agree that a company always has many moving parts and it can be an immense and cumbersome task to keep everything in order with traditional tools like printouts. Not to mention the paper waste it creates, which exponentially grows with the size of a company.

An analog tracking system, while a workable solution may become compromised. Paper can be lost, damaged or simply become cumbersome to keep track of and store. Even in a small company with 10 employees, each month someone needs to keep track of around +30 pieces of paper with attendance sheets, payrolls, schedules, request forms and more. Furthermore, filling out these attendance sheets can be a hassle to workers, and it can also misrepresent the attendance of them as it relies on the good faith of them writing down the correct time stamp of arrival and leave.

The approach

Besides reducing the time it takes for workers to record their daily time, it also increased the accuracy of the time they spend in and out of office. The digitally stored data also helps with creating the monthly payroll reports just in seconds as there is no messy handwriting and sheets of paper to find and go through, no data to enter by hand, just a clear and precise sheet ready to download.

The results

All employees managed to quickly adapt to the card check in system and it made signing and document management much more efficient both for them and those who manage the payrolls. Furthermore, overtime tracking became significantly easier as time stamps precisely show how long people worked for.
